I was working in a factory and, as I had a bit of a D.I.Y. project at home, I decided to book on the Basic course. I enjoyed it so much I decided to carry on for another 3 weeks and change it to a Career course. I now work for a large plastering contractors, mainly on building sites for well known property developers. The work is more satisfying and the money's better too!

I was sick of people letting me down when I needed some plastering done at home so I booked on to the Basic and Advanced courses. I have now done all my own plastering and have earned my money back tenfold by doing some for friends and family as well.

I bought a renovation project with my partner for which we both wanted to get involved in as much as possible. When it came to the plastering I thought we would need to call in the professionals and wouldn't get the opportunity to get our hands dirty as we had no idea. When Lee (the Director) mentioned that he could come out and teach us on the project at the same time as doing it, it seemed a fabulous idea.

I got my brother and his girlfriend there too! We all learned a lot, got hands on and got a lot of the plastering done! By the end of the week we only had 2 rooms left to do and we knew exactly how to go about it. Can't recommend this service enough!

Already worked as laborer on site projects and had some basic experience but not enough! Came to the school on the advanced course. Now working as a plasterer and am in regular contact with another lad that was at the school at the same time. When he gets busy he passes on work to me and vice versa. It's worked out well for both of us.

I was out of work and didn't really know what I wanted to do. Didn't want to enroll on a long college course and noticed a leaflet for Derbyshire's Plastering School in the Job Centre. Spoke to Lee who took me under his wing, taught me to plaster and gave me a number for agencies that look for people who can plaster. He gave me a good idea of what jobs were out there and references for employers. I now work freelance and am really enjoying it.
